Smooth out chips with just a dip. The crystal saver has a nickel file coated with diamond particles. Dipped in water, it will smooth chipped edges of fine crystal, china, ceramics or glassware with a few easy strokes.
I used it on glass and pottery and was thrilled how quickly it smoothed the chips. The objects are now both usable again with no fear of cutting the skin. It performed exactly as advertised.

Used it on crystal glasses and a glass decanter. Worked very well, acceptable results. Reduces sharp, abrupt edges making the chip safer and much less noticeable.

Saved a glass from the trash. Probably won't be helpful for my gold-rimmed stemware, but worked great for my other glassware.

Worked just like it said it would. I bought some vintage wine glasses that I loved but they had a few rough edges. This tool took care of it and was easy to use.

I was skeptical that this product would actually repair the chips in our fine drinking glasses, but was pleasantly surprised when it was effective not only on my Grandmother's antique juice glasses, but on a new Wedgewood crystal glass as well! No more money spent replacing glasses due to chips!

One of my favorite crystal glasses had a chip on the top, not big and it smoothed it right out without damaging the glass. I did used it very slowly as to not break my glass. I also had a small chip on another glass that had a chip on the base of the stem, it too smoothed out the rough edges and looks just fine to still use.

Used this file on a glass basin sink that had been chipped and it quickly and easily smoothed out the sharp edges. I was worried about the potential to shatter the basin since it was tempered glass but worked slowly to reduce the heat. Two things to be aware of in using this or other similar tools; 1) it will not leave the glass polished and crystal clear because of the "sanding" that you are doing. If you want a glassy smooth surface that is clear again additional work will be needed, 2) be very careful where the file touches as it will scratch anywhere it rubs against and if not careful you could make the item look worse instead of better by scratching more of the surface than necessary. So, my recommendation is with the reservation that you have to be careful in using this tool.

Although it doesn't remove the chip itself, it smooths it out enough to make it less noticible and usable.

This glass chip file is so effective and inexpensive. Never found anything that would fix the chips in a glass as quickly. Saves big $$.

Repairing our crystal
When a chip was accidently made in our crystal decanter, we did not want to immediately replace it so this was the perfect solution. With careful application, the decanter looks good as new and no one is the wiser.
