Riedel Wine Line Pinot Noir / Burgundy Wine Glasses (Set of 2)

Bought more glasses as we had a few extra guests this year for the holidays. Have been buying this style for 5 years and never had a problem. Make great gifts too.

I had these delivered to a hotel I was staying at so I would not have to drink good wine from cheap hotel water glasses. They were wonderful; so much I didn't mind leaving them behind when I checked out.

I was surprised by the difference a Riedel glass makes on the taste of wines. The pinot noir glasses are my favorite for pinots and even cabs (don't tell Riedel I said that). The only downside with the Vinum XL series is they are thin and fragile. I broke one of the pinot glasses and it was expensive to replace (had to buy 2 for nearly $50, ouch). I am in the process of trying the Wine series - they are more durable, but they are slightly different in shape - I have not yet compared them side-by-side, but I will.

I have already written reviews for the white wine and champagne flutes so take a look at those, I will tell you that I loved the design so much and the price was so good that I bought several sets for freinds as Xmas gifts this year.

This is the perfect glass for any red wine that needs to breathe a little. The glass feels great in your hand, it is neither too delicate or the glass too thin. The design on the stem makes it a little different from other glases you find at [...] or at other department stores carrying Riedl. I bought 8 of them.

The bowl on these glasses are rather large so I will probably use for entertaining but not everyday use. The stems have deco designs at the bottom of the bowl & top of the base that make them very attractive and add substance to the glass.

I was looking for a red wine glass with a large bowl, but this is a might too large... probably holds close to half a bottle of wine! I suggest the next size down might be perfect, and also a little better balanced in the hand.

I am now a believer in fine glassware especially Riedel. It is beautiful and it does enhance the wine in so many ways!

I wash these glasses by hand rather than the dishwasher and I find it difficult to clean the rim without a bit of a struggle. Would be great if these glasses were a little wider at the top opening. They feel a little fragile to me and that's why I wash them by hand.

I love these glasses. They are very comfortable to hold and are well-balanced in your hand. The stem is delicate looking, but doesn't feel too fragile. Would definitely recommend them! (I've already ordered more.)
