I have used this product for many years and have always been delighted. We have used the exact same glasses everyday and break maybe one a year. This is the first time I heve received these glasses and have experenced, what I beliebve, to be a manufacturing flaw. Two of the eight glasses broke on the first washing - very disappointed.

Use it to serve bordeaux and cabernet sauvignon. The shape of the glass captures the aromas which helps to enhance the wine drinking experience.

We enjoy entertaining friends. Wine is always an integral part of the evening. These wineglasses add a special elegance to the event.

The Riedel glasses are great. Bought these as a gift but was dismayed to find "Pay 6, get 8" plastered all over the box. Embarassing to give a box with that all over, fortunately the recipients were good friends and appreciate a bargain. Get rid of the chessy "pay 6, get 8" or put it on a removable label. Even if I kept it for my own, I would not want that splashed all over the place.

Delighted with the product. Even the little sticky tags were easy to remove!

The wine glasses DO improve the varietal characteristics. Although Riedel says they are dishwasher safe, I never put them in there because 1) they are too tall, and 2) they get etched by the detergent. I have the Mondavi brand of varietal specific glasses, but the Riedel are a step above with their wonderfully thin rims and gorgeous, clear crystal.

Sign up for the email updates and catch the "free shipping" weekends. Dishwasher safe ONLY if your dishwasher drys with hot air (Bosch) and NOT with an electrical element at the bottom of the "tub". My everyday stems are more than ten years old and pass for brand new.

Best to wash by hand. They are delicate but that is what makes it a nice wine glass. Nice enough to be used with china and casual enough to use everyday.
