Cons

Used to fill in unusual shaped spaces next to my pre-built wine racks in my wine closet. Very good for that purpose. Also, slots are a bit wider than in some racks, so wide bottles (such as champagne) are easily accommodated.

You'd think such a simple product would be easy to manufacture, and would result in consistent production. Not so. It's basically a bunch of pegs and blocks... simple enough, but the holes drilled in the blocks are not at consistent angles... e.g. maybe they have 30 drill presses cranking these things out, but these presses need to be calibrated. I assembled a grid of these, and in one particular row, 6 of 7 blocks were in perfect alignment, but one block was off my more than a half inch because one hole in one block was drilled at a slight angle, and there was no way to connect the necessary peg. Several blocks had holes drilled on only 3 sides (instead of 4) and one block actually had no holes drilled on one end- completely useless. So looking at the finished construction, one might picture a sort of grid, but some of the points in the grid are off enough so that pegs connect at angles... it does not look like a quality product. In some of the "cells", wine bottles cannot be held because the gap is too wide and they fall through to the cell below. I have 3 such cells in my construction, and my only solution would be to tear apart the whole thing and rebuild it... but then, I might end up with more problems so I refrained. Other reviews for this product suggest using wood glue, and I cannot agree more. I did not use wood glue; just a rubber mallet to pound the pegs in. Once while moving it I separated a bunch of connections in the middle- big pain! I ultimately ended up using some wire to hold it together (sort of woven from one end to the other and back) and it is working for now, but I am actively looking for alternative storage solutions. Bordex looks like a good contender. On the plus side, I used a stepped approach to assembly so it fits under stairs. In other words, the bottom row is 10 wide, the next row up is 9 wide, the next is 8, etc... And I must say the way this is built allows for immense flexibility. Overall, if you're looking for a quick, cheap, flexible solution, this *might* be a solution for you. Personally, I do not feel confident storing some of my treasures in this rack.

Very time consuming to put together and the pegs will break off. Luckily they do send extra pegs, but the trick is to drill out the broken ones!!

Nice once you get it together. A rubber mallet is essential to assembly. Some of the pegs & holes are not uniform making it a little challenging.

I have purchased a similar product previously, so maybe it is that this mahogany style (color anyway) is really just very flimsy, cheap wood that has been stained to hide the poor wood quality. The pegs break off very easily and even crumble. Other products I have purchased from this source have been very reliable in the past.

This was our second purchase of this item - we needed to increase the amount of storage in our pantry. Overall we have been pleased with both purchases. They have met our needs, supplying efficient storage in a limited amount of space. Although it is not in a visible place it does look attractive. One issue - the connecting rods snapped on a few occasions when assembling the product. Not a big deal because we did not use all the parts and had extra, but for someone who is intending to use all of the capacity, could be a consideration.

I used two orders of this product to customize my everyday wine storage in a closet. Works perfectly and looks attractive. Definitely buy a rubber mallet to put this puppy together. The assembly isn't difficult, but it definitely takes some time. Would definitely purchase again and recommend.
