Stack racks high and save on space! One level, two levels, three.... Easily adjust the size and configuration of your wine collection with this 12-bottle*, stackable hardwood rack! Designed to fit securely one on top of the other for space-saving storage. Strong, weighty hardwood allows you to…
Using it to store wine in a dining room. Don't know if I would order it again. Bottle stick out further than the rack. Assembly was not easy. Holes in the backing did not match up, so additional holes had to be drilled to put the backing on.

I loved the look of the wood however, the X center piece does not fit properly, it slids out of place any time you attempt to move the rack. So place it where you want it first before inserting your bottles, or you can be in for a big mess if the bottles slip out during transferring the rack.

Putting this unit together is fairly easy as long as you own a drill and/or an electric screwdriver. If you do not then I would not suggest purchasing this item. The holes for the screws are not pre-drilled; there are just "dimples" in the wood where they expect you to line up the pieces. Using a manual screwdriver to put this together would make for an extremely frustrating task. This is not fine furniture by any stretch of the imagination so please do not expect it to be anything other than an inexpensive, space saving storage solution. It took me roughly fifteen minutes to put this together (once I figured out the dimple thing.) I am happy with my purchase as it fits perfectly in the small alcove that I have and it holds quite a lot.

This product was difficult to put together. I have blisters on my thumb from screwing into non-existent holes... Piece of junk. I ordered two x-cube stacks and two regular cubes and put together just one. The others I am sending back. [...] I won't order from this catalog again. Very disappointed.

Poor Quality & Horrible to Assemble

My husband and I received two of these racks as Christmas gifts. The assembly was an absolute nightmare!! First of all, the holes for the screws were not drilled all the way through. We had to stop assembly and go buy an electric screwdriver just to make it work. Even then, the screws were extremely difficult to get in all of the way. Also, the back, top, bottom and shelves of the unit are particle board... Poor quality to say the least. The only actual wood pieces are the sides. The back pieces did not have all of the holes drilled for the number of screws that were supposed to be inserted. Finally, the back pieces were about a 1/4 inch longer than they should have been, so the backing is not flush with the top and bottom. After putting the first rack together, we hoped it was a fluke, but had the exact same problems with the second rack. Wine Enthusiast should be embarassed to sell this product. If I'd felt like dealing with packing them back up [...], I would have sent them back. Buyer beware of this product!!

I ordered two and returned one when the first was so difficult to assemble. The screw holes did not line up accurately. I ended up not being able to put the back on the first one and just gave up entirely on the second one.

Good value for the price. Easier to assemble if you overdrill the holes a bit deeper. Sturdy. I would rate the finish as acceptable.

We are not happy with the look of our new cube stack unit. Holes that were to have been predrilled were not and when we got the unit assembled, the back panel hangs over the side about 1/8th of an inch and it looks funny. We will place in an area where no one can see it...like our wine cellar!

I ordered this piece along with the wine glass rack, two 12-bottle stacking cubes and serving tray. So far the stacking cubes are on backorder. When the whole set arrives, I will arrange them as storage/display in my kitchen eat-in area. From a distance the pieces I have look fine and do the job. Assembly/closer inspection revealed less than stellar workmanship - uneven staining, rough spots in the wood, pre-drilled holes missing or not lined up correctly, (requiring swapping parts from one piece to another to decrease problems with stability) or drilling missing holes and re-drilling mis-aligned holes. I feel for the quality the pieces were rather expensive.

I use these on my back bar, and they work well and are solid. the sides of the cross bars are not finished so you see the edge of the plywood, and if you get multiples the finish is not consistent.

Same upside as the 12-bottle cube stack (see that review). Biggest downside is that not only does the back not fit squarely with the frame, but the X does not fit squarely within the frame (i.e., it is not flush with the front/sides of the frame). If I had it to do over again, I'd sub out the X-cubes for the cube stacks (though the mix & match look of some Xs and some cubes does look better).
