After reading the numerous reviews I took a chance and ordered this wine rack. So very glad I did! The price for the value is great. I put it in our pantry to keep our collection of wines and it works perfect. Some of the reviewers were correct, it takes a little time to pound all of the pegs into the bars but once in, they are tight and sturdy. I found that by rubbing the ends of each peg on a candle, the wax allowed the pegs to go in smoother. You do have to hammer the pegs in to get the best fit but that wasn't too hard. Another review said that some pegs were too small and didn't grip in the holes. That was also true but there were more than enough extra pegs that this was not a problem. As long as you keep turning the rack and pounding each bar, on each side, the rack becomes even and sturdy. I liked this rack so much I ordered another.

I already have a modular wood wine rack and I thought I would expand may existing rack using the 40 bottle wine rack. Unfortunately it took for ever to assemble and the wooden pegs would not fit securely. When I loaded the rack with wine some of the bottles were slipping through due in part to some of the pegs not fitting securely. The directions recommended glue which I do not want to try since I intend on changing the configuration. For the price I paid, I would consider something more stable.

I did not find the wine rack particularly difficult to assemble. You DO need a rubber mallet and a couple of hours. Once assembled it is attractive and sturdy, and I think it's a terrific value.

This appears to be a good design with terrible quality control. The octagonal members were not drilled well at all. Some holes were deeper than others, and were not drilled straight or in the same place on all pieces. The result is a rack that is not symmetric. Not suitable for display. Hide it in your wine cellar, never to be seen by anyone else.

This is a great product. I wanted to keep my wine in the closet and there didn't seem to be any products on the market that fit the space. This set lets you custom build for any space. I ended up with two sets. It was easy to assemble, but took all day. The instructions suggest using wood glue on the horizontal pegs which I would strongly recommend for any large projects. The project was fun, no tools required, but enough woodworking to feel good about the accomplishment.

This is a decent rack. Assemply can be time consuming but with an OPEN bottle of wine it passes by OK. I used wood glue to ensure a sturdy build which takes longer. It requires some attention to make sure the connector dowels are sitting properly and hte rack is square/straight and not crooked. The rack is great for building storage around an odd space where a traditional rectangle or square won't fit.

Put the assembly inside a cabinet. Assembly itself was somewhat difficult and resulted in some splitting of the horizontal bars. Finish needs to allow a little more gap in the holes for insertion of the rods.
