Designer Wine Rack Kit - 5 Column Individual w / o Display (Redwood Natural)

Luxurious style with a handcrafted look that rivals fine custom racking. This 5 column wine rack kit does not include a display but its affordable price is one that only a modular kit could offer. Holds up to 100 wine bottles, this wine rack has great appeal by itself or as a component within the…

The racks come with finishing nails and there are two problems. One is that the directions do not tell you to predrill holes or every one of the nails will bend. Also, as you hammer some of the nails in, they will not penetrate the second piece of wood that you are attaching to because there is no support from below. You will need to work out a system using other materials to give enough support to the bottom sides as you nail or you will become as frustrated as I did trying to assemble this. Finally, do not expect that these will stand on their own without attaching them with a wall bracket (included). It is rather unattractive but necessary. I plan to look around for a more attractive option. On the good side, they are attractive (I ordered the mahogony) and do have a large capacity. Once you get past the issues that I discribed above, then the assembly is not too difficult. It seems that the manufacturer should explain the pre-drilling issue and also provide a piece of wood at the right width which could alieviate the problem of the bottom support as you nail, but alas they do not.

Need to be careful assembling the unit. Some of the wood started spliting when the screws we put in, even with pilot holes drilled. Need to people to assemble since you have to line up the parts. There are no pre-drilled holes or alignment guides/notches. Stable once assembled.

We had purchased what we thought were the same racks 3 years ago. Apparently this is a new supplier. The rack is flimsy and the wood split easily during installation. Would not re-order.
