Not sure how someone could rate this less than 5 stars unless they are a competitor. I've had mine over a year and it is amazing. Had an issue once and made contact direct to manufacture and resolved seamlessly. Used daily and heavily...

After some research and hand wringing, I bought one for my wife and me, and one for my parents. First, the system performs flawlessly. No pressure regulation problems, leaks, or things of that sort. The valving and seals fit, seal, and click into place in the way that you expect quality hydraulic equipment to. Watch the little video, and you will know everything there is to know to master the device. In particular, heed the advice to use hot water on the spigots when you change bottles. It rejuvenates the rubber seals. In both installations, the unit is kept out in the open on the kitchen counter, fully rigged with three bottles, tucked slightly under the cabinets (easily suits a 17" clearance with all but my very tallest bottles). Function first, but once I get that I care a lot about the looks of a thing, and the unit looks great. It is not a large, flashy appliance nor does it look like a small chemistry lab experiment. The bottles are showcased well, making up the greater visual mass, which I think is fitting. Wine first! The unit is low profile and looks like a quality piece of equipment, which it is. I put some expensive bottles on from the get go. My parents with theirs, and my wife and I with ours (separate households, but 1.5 miles apart), savored the wine over the next couple of weeks. One bottle in particular, a Ridge 1999 from the original lineup is entering its 3rd week, and we believe the wine is not degraded--evolved, perhaps, but not degraded, which is an important distinction. Portion control is what gives the Wine Saver Home such tremendous value for us. We drink less, but do not feel like we are in the least. Until we used this product, we did not realize how much wine we consumed under the unconscious pressure of the bottle pour. No such thing here. No doubt, we are all spending less on wine per week and drinking better wines. Every day is special wine day with this wonderful device. Having a variety of wines on offering of course is a bonus, and the ability to hold off mid-bottle makes wine drinking stress free. Catch a flu while in the middle of a bottle, like me? No problem. It will wait until you are better. And if you have a reluctant wine drinker in the family, consider the case of my mother, who never could let herself fully enjoy wine because she thought it too expensive. The expense per unit volume ruined it for her. Now my mother enjoys wine openly because she is able to drink it in the tiniest portions at a time, which got her over the cost of wine (versus water!?) and allowed her to experience and understand for the first time what all the fuss is about. I use this system for reds only. I prefer to use the simple Vacu Vin or the Presorvac systems for whites, and pop those back in the fridge. For some of my Italian reds, the spigot is a little on the big size. On my closest calls, I still have been able to squeeze in the spigot, but I use hot water to max out the suppleness of the seals and go slowly, so as not to…

This product is the home version of what has been used for years in bar and resaurant setting. It is a very simple concept of using a pressured gas to displace the air in a bottle of wine to preserve it's integretity over time. This product failed in every basic function it was designed to do. After following the manufacturers very simple instructions of set up and operation, the whole thing was a bust. Excess pressure caused wine to spray everywhere. I was lucky to have picked a cheap wine to waste along with with one whole canister of argon. After loading a 2nd canister, there was no gas,no pressure,no wine. Yes,this product is easy to clean. It's everything around it that takes a while! Very expensive lemon.
