I use this fridge to keep 35 or so bottles that will age over the next 10-20 years. I used to have a house and it was unnecessary, so I was looking for something sleek, inoffensive and quiet. I was nervous about purchasing this item because I'd read that it was noisy in a review. I don't agree with that. It's quiet, and when the compressor kicks on, it is fairly quiet. Based on current electric rates, it seems like it costs about $5 a month to run, and I keep the two parts at 49 degrees and 53 degrees. I did not realize I was going to have to stack wine on some of the shelves, or that I'd be placing them end to end (it is two wine bottles deep). This makes it difficult to use tags on the necks of the bottles. There is a small design issue where the door will not completely close if the shelves are not pushed all the way back into place. There is a click when you do this, and one or two shelves required more pressure than others to get them to do so. Overall, I'm happy.

We were excited about this unit because it had all the features we were looking for. However, once received we realized how NOISY it is. I can't believe it runs constantly. I have a large refrigerator/freezer which is 10x more quiet than this unit. Very unhappy with the noise.

Not to bad but not superior

Although it is a beautiful unit, with rolling hard wood shelves a large capacity and a slick glass front all in black, it is loud. Maybe it is just my unit but it seems to run all the time and when it is running it is loud with a high pitched whine (wine he he he). I can hear the high pitched wine through out the bottom of the house. If not for the noise it would get 5 stars. The unit is in the kitchen with a cool house. The temperature does fluctuate around 5 degrees but does what it should. I would love this if not for the noise.
