This is a really nice fridge for its price. I have had it about 3 weeks now, so I cannot comment on longterm reliability. I can say that I am very pleased with how quiet it is and that I was able to actually fit 28 bottles in the fridge. This included 8 bottles of Pinot. I really was only expecting to fit 24 max in the fridge, so I was pleasantly surprised. In my testing the temperature on the fridge was only 1 degree off from the probe I used, and that is assuming the thermometer I used is any more accurate than the fridge.

We have been researching wine refrigerators/coolers for over a year and we were so glad when Wine Enthusiast listed this one in their Holiday catalog. We are just getting started and wanted something small to put in a corner of our large open area living space. It arrived just as stated two days before Christmas in perfect shape. It took it about two hours of very quiet running to get to 54 degrees and has maintained that constantly. We like our wine slightly chilled and this frig is just perfect. The metal shelving is a tiny bit clumsy when removing bottles but nothing to really complain about. We took out the bottom shelf to better accomodate Champagne so we can store 24 bottles which is more than enough for us. I really love the tinted glass door and the subtle light that you can turn on when needed or for effect.

The Wine Enthusiast 28 Bottle Refrigerator is nicely designed and looks great in our dining room. It's relatively compact, seems to keep accurate temperature, and is exceptionally quiet. I've never seen an item packed so well for shipping. It probably could have been dropped from the back end of a moving truck and survived without damage. The adjustable shelving is nice and, in fact, is required to make this a worthwhile purchase. The unit ships with 6 removable shelves. Each shelf will allow 4 bottles. Bottles can also be placed on the bottom of the refrigerator giving you a 7 x 4 bottle capacity, at least in theory. The shelves slide into any of 12 tracks cut into the inside of the refrigerator box. Placing a shelf into every other track provides for a 2 and 7/8 inch clearance from the underside of one shelf to the top of the next shelf. Most but not all bottles can be slid onto a shelf with this amount of clearance. I've had no problems with the more slender bordeaux-type bottles. The fit is a bit tight with a tendency to scratch the label moving the bottle in and out of the rack. However, there is a little bit of "play" in how the shelf fits into its slot. This allows fairly easy insertion and removal of bordeaux-type bottles since you can slightly lift the shelf above as you retrieve a bottle. However, bottles with larger profiles (i.e., burgundy-type or champagne) will not fit if the shelves are arranged in a 7 x 4 configuration. Interestingly, I've found that there can be some slight variation in the size among the bordeaux-type and the Hoch bottles that are common with reislings. Some are more difficult to slide in and out even with the bit of "play" in shelf position. Bottom line is that I found a 28 bottle configuration impractical and, depending on your mix of bottle types, sometimes impossible. I think this is a great wine refrigerator of exceptional value compared to others that I looked at while shopping for this one. This is the only unit I've had personal experience with. However, I'm impressed enough with it that I am considering buying another one as a simple way to expand capacity.

So far, so good.[...] We hooked it up and it started up very quietly. The temperature is right on. I had to remove 2 of the shelves to fit in my Pinot Noir bottles, but I can still fit in about 18 - 20 bottles easily. I would recommend this cooler.

I had been wanting to purchase a wine fridge for some time with the aim of starting a modest collection of good wine. I researched for several months, and the only ones I liked were close to $1000, and I simply was not willing to spend that much (think of all the wine you could buy for that money!). Just as I was about to give up on the whole idea, the new 28 bottle fridge was released. It had everything I wanted: a decent bottle capacity; thermoelectric cooling; a sleek look. Most of all, it was affordable. I am incredibly happy with this purchase. The fridge keeps a reasonably consistent temperature with the one displayed (I tested it with a fridge thermometer, and naturally, the bottom is cooler - heat rises!), and is virtually silent all the time except when cooling, and the amount of noise it makes then is negligible. All bottle types do fit, but you can only store 24 bottles if you wish to keep Burgundy or Champagne bottles. My only complaint about the fridge is that its touchscreen controls are extremely sensitive - so sensitive that static electricity can affect them. Just a few weeks ago, I noticed that the light was going on and off by itself, and the temperature settings would change on their own (random beeps were heard). My apartment gets very dry in winter, and I finally discovered by accident what was causing it: I was standing near the fridge and I heard static hit the fridge; it beeped and the light turned on by itself. To remedy the problem, I folded a piece of paper over the top of the fridge to cover the controls, and since then I have had no recurrences of the problem. Other than this glitch, I highly recommend this fridge. It is a tremendous value, does the job, and looks great!

A very good wine refrigerator, especially considering the price. Quiet enough for the living room with a perfectly discreet appearance while holding over 2 cases of wine. Only complaints are; one, ideally, you have to pull each shelf out as you put in or take out a bottle or else you will end up scraping the label, and two, the motor can get a bit noisy when initially cooling down your wine, but then is barely noticeable.

I've been researching wine refrigerators for about a year now and I finally decided on this one. I couldn't be happier with this model! The touch screen is awesome and the interior light adds a luxurious touch. It's very quiet! The only complaint I have is that Pinot Noir bottles (which I have a lot of) are a little bit too big for the shelves, but if you take one row out then you can adjust the rest to make them fit. I have read hundreds of reviews on different wine refrigerators and I think I made a great choice by going with Wine Enthusiast. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who wants to keep their wine at the storage right temperature. I definitely consider myself very knowledgeable of wine.
