Good but not great

3.0

Pros

  • Attractive Design

Cons

  • Too Small
  • Can Not Adjust Shelving
  • Larger bottles don't fit

Best Uses

  • Kitchen

I was looking for a built-in wine cellar that holds ~175-200 bottles, and was discouraged that other brands (Vinotemp, Danby, etc.) didn't seem to handle larger diameter pinot noir bottles (majority of my collection). I thought I hit the jackpot when Wine Enthusiast came out with the N'Finity wine cellar, as the description claims that it was specifically designed to fit these larger bottles. Finally! Alas, this claim is false - "normal" burgundy shaped bottles will fit, but the slightly larger bottles used for higher-end PN only fit on the top shelf (precariously at that) and very bottom area. The refrigerator is quite nice looking and I'm sure it will operate fine. But the capacity claims are grossly overstated, just like all the other 160-180 bottle wine cellars out there. Had I known, I'd have paid a premium for a Eurocave Comfort (not built-in-able) and figured out how to make it fit in our kitchen. Why can't someone make a "true" 200 bottle wine fridge that can be built in?

Nice product, but forget the 170 bottles

4.0

  • Attractive Design
  • Precise Temperature

Cons

  • Too Small
  • Can Not Adjust Shelving

Best Uses

I recently moved from a house with a nice storage area for my wine. Needed something at the new place and this seemd like a nice unit. It is, just don't count on it holding anything near the 170 bottles unless they're all the same size bottles. I knew going it that it wouldn't, but had no idea how tough it would be to get everything packed in there. Needs 1/4 inch or so more between shelves and make the top light fixture flush (can't get bottles to pass by without hitting it) to make this one 5 stars! So far the temps remain consistent and it is a nice looking product.

Great value, cheap shelving

3.0

Pros

  • GREAT value
  • Quiet

Cons

  • Poor Quality Shelves

Best Uses

I have been collecting wine for about a year; this is my first free standing unit (I also have a 60 bottle built in). This unit is a terrific value, extremely attractive, and relatively quiet (makes a little less noise than a typical high end refrigerator). The temperature fluctuates a hair more than I'd like but both compartments stay well within acceptable range (50 - 60F). There is one major flaw. The included shelves are very poor quality; they are flimsy wood slats running from the back to the front of the unit, reinforced with only a couple of horizontal slats of the same thickness. As a result, the shelves sag when fully loaded, and the bottom of the shelves rub against the bottles on the shelf below. I am planning to reinforce some of the shelves myself - I am pretty sure this will fix the problem and the total price (including my time) will still be well below comparable units of other brands. Still, this is an irritating issue to have to deal with. Aside from this the unit would easily merit a 5 star rating. Bottom line: I'd recommend this to anyone who is handy enough to do a little simple reinforcement work on the shelves themselves. To those who aren't, or are collecting high end bottles whose value would be seriously affected by any scuffing of labels, go with a Eurocave.

We have had this wine cellar for a couple of weeks and really like it. It is very nice looking and easy to use. It is more difficult to fit larger sized bottles, but you can make it work. The shelving is really nice and pulls out so it has easy access. Overall, I think this is a great buy for the price. [...]

  • Reasonably Priced
  • Attractive Design

Cons

  • Loud

Overall, great product but beware that it can be loud when it's turning on. Louder than a refrigerator or my other wine fridge. Temperature does fluctuate by a few degrees but nothing that would dissuade me to buy this again.

Nice unit, but has some flaws

3.0

Pros

  • Attractive Design

Cons

  • Inaccurate Temperature

Best Uses

  • Bar

I like the unit, but I am dissappointed with the temperature control. The units have atleast a 10 degree difference between the bottom part of the section and the top part of the section. The shelves that surround the control panel are way colder then the ones that are furthest away from it. The temperature of the top compartment also effects what temp the lower compartment can be set at. For instance it is impossible to have your whites set at 41 and have you reds stay any warmer then 53. In order to keep your reds at around 60 you need to have your whites set at around 50. Also, unless you have every bottle that is the exact same size, there is no way you can come close to fitting 170 in it. The bottom and top shelves are the only shelves that can fit pinot noir bottles. If you fill a self with bottles you need to be careful when you open it so that the bottles on the ends don't fall off. I've already had one bottle smash on me. In the end I would recommend it for the price, but you just need to know exactly what you are getting.

Good buy for the money, Temperature varies from top to bottom 4 - 6 degrees. Not bad for a two zone unit but it could be better. It took a few days to get the temperature balanced. Will hold ten bottles per shelve with no issues. My Pinot Noir bottles even fit! Go an order one today. Less expensive then others and alot cheaper then a wine cellar!

We love the look of this wine refrigerator and we're very happy with it in general. However, Wine Enthusiast's claim that they addressed odd shaped wine bottles isn't actually accurate. We can only fit 10 bottles max (not 11) on our shelves and they are scrunched in with 10. Also, most of the shelves (except for one shelf) don't fit odd shaped bottles such as a Turley Zin, Pinot Noir or Champagne bottles. You have to remove shelves to make those bottles fit; otherwise the labels scratch off. Also, I don't consider this a very quiet wine refrigerator. It's right next to a U Line wine refrigerator that we own. I never hear the U line but I know when the N 'Finity turns on-kind of like a wind tunnel. After a few weeks I have gotten used to it though. Overall, it is a good buy and we are happy with it.

A fine wine cellar

[...]. It is an attractive cellar and features nice rolling shelves that mostly accommodate larger pinot noir style bottles. The dual zone temperature setting works great and the unit is very quiet. It is rated at 170 bottles which would require that you place at least 10 bottles in each of the 15 shelves and use the extra space at the bottom and middle. As for the wine collection I have, I was not able to ever put 10 bottles in one shelf because my wines are either too large (wide pinot noir bottles) or too long. So if you have a large collection of non-bordeaux sized bottles, expect to fit substantially less than 170 bottles in here.Overall I'm quite satisfied so far (its only been 2 weeks in operation at my house).
