I really like that I can stand up opened bottles with this unit. I would not buy it for white wines, as it doesn't get cool enough for those. I bought it to store reds, and although it is not unattractive, I would not put it in a highly visible place in my home; I would buy a cellar with wood shelves there. Also, the fan is audible enough, that I am glad it is not in a main living area. I could not get a bottle to sit on the shelves with the vertical holders (as seen in the photo). Tried a few bottles and they were not secure there. Still trying to understand that. The unit still holds the amount that I need at any given time.

The only reason I gave it 4 stars is that I filled it up too quickly and wish I had a larger one. Storing open bottles with vacuum stoppers in the display area keeps wine from going bad. One minor issue, on a couple shelves, the outer bottles must be removed to remove the inner bottles.

so far so good! i did SOO MUCH RESEARCH before purchasing this wine fridge. most in this price range have poor reviews but i was not ready to make more of an investment. one of the tips was to not plug it in for two hours once unpacking it. the manual warns that if this is not done it could cause problems with the motor (perhaps the noise a few others experienced). my unit is very quiet and sleek! i am absolutely happy. i would love to have dual temp zones but once again, most models with dual zones with similar prices have many problems. it is also very cool to have the ability to store open bottles and display my favorite bottles up front- like a rotating art show! the top row is a bit of a struggle to get bottles in but i store all of my dessert wines up there and it works out perfectly. overall, i am totally satisfied and after looking into dozens of models feel that this fridge is a good value/choice in comparison to its competition.

Not As Good As It Looks

It looks nice, the display in the front door works well and the lighting is great. I can live with turning the bottles on their side so the labels do not rip. My major complaint is it does not get cold enough. 54F is the minimum and most of the time it is at 56F or 57F. Myself and almost everyone I know like whites much colder than this so I have to keep my whites in another refrigerator. I would not buy it again.

The Vinoview unit is very attractive, and I was pleased with its performance. But, the unit quit working after 16 months (4 months out of warranty). The customer service staff said the unit doesn't have any replacement parts to repair it -- we'd have to BUY a new unit. The specs of this product say that it can't be enclosed: "This model is not meant to be built-in to cabinetry, recessed or put underneath a counter. Additionally this model is not meant to be used in an enclosed area. While the back of the unit does produce a minimal amount of heat, it still needs to vent to an open area."We used our Vinoview unit in a custom built bar cabinet designed for a refrigerator or wine cabinet. It provided clearance on the sides and top of the unit and was totally open at the back. Wine Enthusiast Customer Service said the Vinoview was not meant to be used in this type of cabinet. So be very wary of where you place this unit if you buy it. I think we met the specifications, but are now having to pitch the unit and the wine stored in it. And, NO help from Wine Enthusiast. Perfect "starter" wine fridge

4.0

Pros

  • Easy To Assemble
  • Good Capacity
  • Attractive Design

Cons

  • No dual tempature control
  • Light switch under door
  • No door lock

Best Uses

I've recently begun learning about and enjoying red wines. This particular wine refrigerator is just right for the aspiring collector. I will say; however, that it is not exactly silent. Upon receipt of this unit, I set the temperature to 59 degrees and the unit fan was quite noisy until it reached my desired temp. Since then it has quieted down significantly. It looks great in my dining room. I would also like to say that I received the unit with absolutely NO defects. When I pulled it out of the box it was in super condition - no scratches, cracks, etc. I do wish it had a door lock b/c something I didn't take into account is that I have a toddler exploring the house and the last thing I want is my son having easy access to high quality bottles of wine and using them as toys. I should get good use of this unit for a while. If you're a real serious collector you may want to consider a custom cellar in your home if you have the space and means.

It's very quiet. I can buy & store quality wines now. Doorway storage was the selling feature for me. That way I could return an open bottle. I am very happy with this purchase.

This is a super quiet refrigerator. The best feature is extra room in the door for open bottles of wine (we use tall stoppers & they fit just fine). It is sleek and attractive, too. I bought this refrigerator as a birthday present for my husband. I am very pleased with it.

Pros

  • Holds Bottles Securely
  • Attractive Design

Cons

  • Doesn't hold 35 bottles
  • Loud

Best Uses

I bought this wine frig to put in my kitchen/bar area. It is a great little piece and is very attractive. The only problems I have had is that it doesn't quite hold 35 bottles. I can only get 33 in because the digital thermostat at the top blocks two spots. Finally, it is a little louder than I was expecting. It seems to be running its fan all of the time. I figured for a such a small unit it wouldn't need to do this, but it kicks on four-five times more than my regular frig. Overall, I am pleased. Just wish I would have known some of this stuff before I purchased.

[...] set it up immediately. Didn't take long to cool down, but I don't like my red wine too cool. Very quiet, I usually forget its even in the corner. Haven't received my first electric bill though to see how it does, but I would still recommend this unit. I like the display in the front window and the interior lights.
