Nice Cellar

4.0

Pros

  • Precise Temperature

Cons

Best Uses

Put this unit in the garage. I live in Florida and it can get hot during the summer but the unit is supposed to function in temperatures up to 95 degrees. I think that it probably will hold fewer than 150 bottles, but it is the cheapest EuroCave unit around. So far, quite happy.

Ok, so it's not fancy, but it gets the job done! The look is fine and will hide nicely in a study, pantry and even the in the small dining room in our temporary apartment. It is very quiet and the temp has been very stable. I would highly recommend purchasing more sliding shelves. We bought two additional sliding shelves and it is just right for our mini collection. There is a chilling compartment and/or space for white/sparkling at the bottom, which is something I didn't know, but is nice to have. We comfortably fit over 100 bottles inside.

Eurocave is top notch

4.0

Pros

  • High Quality
  • Precise Temperature
  • Quiet

Cons

  • Unattractive Design

Best Uses

  • Aging wines
  • Keeping wines cool

Purchased this product to age my growing collection of high end wines and to keep my everyday drinking wines cool and out of the southern summer heat. Very pleased with it, although the one gripe I have, as with most people, is the inability to stack the varoius bottle shapes efficiently.

No frill storage solution

4.0

Pros

  • Compact
  • Good capacity
  • Quiet

Cons

  • Can Not Adjust Shelving

Best Uses

  • Garage

Not a good storage device for non-standard bottles. The unit's capacity is all about stacking identical bottles with square shoulders. My wine bottles are much more varied and the bottle stack starts looking like a woodpile.

Below expectations

3.0

Pros

  • Precise Temperature
  • Quiet

Cons

  • Misleading bottle count
  • Too Small

Best Uses

  • No frills basemnt storage

The product is very quiet and the temperature seems very accurate. The storage bottle count is very misleading. I bought this understanding that storage capacity would be reduced based on odd bottle sizes but I would say it is a stretch to get 1/2 of the capacity as stated. The pictures on Wine Enthusiast website are very misleading as well. They show bottles stacked up several layers on a shelf. The Eurocave manual is very specific in that bottles should not be allowed to touch the sides of the cabinet yet this is exactly what is shown on the website.

As advertised.

Pros

  • Price point
  • Quiet
  • FREE SHIPPING

Cons

  • Adjustable rack capacity
  • Can Not Adjust Shelving
  • French Logic in controls

Best Uses

  • Bulk Storage

This cellar is as advertised. The price point was the draw for me and it's clean design with a narrow depth of 22 inches. This makes integration of this unit in shallow cut outs possible compared to others. It is a good value, meeting expectations.

Humidity Control?

3.0

Pros

  • Adjustable Shelving
  • Precise Temperature

Cons

Best Uses

  • Out of the way location

So far so good. I have a remote thermometer/hydrometer in the unit to monitor the environment. So far the temperature control is great, but I was expecting the humidity to be controlled between 60% and 70%, but it has been running around 48%. Too dry to keep corks in good condition. I put a shallow basin of water in the unit along with the wine and now the humidity is right around 60%. The manual does mention that the unit functions best when it is above 70% full, I have a very small number of bottles stored at this point.

EuroCave Chamber wine cellar

4.0

Pros

  • Quiet
  • Adjustable Shelving

Cons

  • Too Small
  • Unattractive Design
  • Not enough shelves
  • Capacity

Best Uses

  • Bar

Overall I am happy with the EuroCave Chamber. I primarily use for long term storage but stacking can be very challenging. It would be great to be able to reverse the door from right- to left-hand hinge and one or two more roll out shelves would have made it easier to handle non-standard bottles.

Mostly love it - almost perfect...

4.0

Pros

  • Quiet
  • Small Footprint
  • Space saving design
  • Attractive Design

Cons

  • Overstated capacity

Best Uses

  • Dining Room
  • Great long term storage

The product is beautiful and fits well in a NYC apartment but capacity is way overstated if you have ANY variety of wine bottles. Californias, Burgundys, Pinots, Ports and large format bottles make storage literally a puzzle. I can fit maybe, maybe, 100 bottles. Maybe...

What is a standard size bottle??

4.0

Pros

  • Quiet
  • Attractive Design
  • Energy Efficient
  • Adjustable Shelving

Cons

  • Too Small

Best Uses

The product is great, but the bottle capacity is truly misleading. A standard-sized bottle refers to mass produced and primarily cheap bottling, which begs the question, why would I want to save the bottles anyhow? Any vineyards that use higher quality bottles will not fit comfortably on the shelves. I would prefer shelves with one or two fewer spots, so that stacking is actually possible. While I would recommend this to a friend, I would caveat my recommendation.

Good utilitarian wine cellar

4.0

Pros

  • Precise Temperature
  • Compact for its volume
  • Quiet

Cons

  • Cheezy lower compartment

Best Uses

  • Longer term storage

longer term storage of aging wines I like the simplicity, but setting the temperature is counter-intuitive and poorly described in the manual. Once set it stays stable (my home temp fluctuates between 60 and 80 degrees) If it were 4 inches deeper I could store my Trefethen cabs in double rows. Lack of depth means the necks overlap too much to lay flat. For storage, a see-through door is not strictly needed, but would be nice. It would be great to be able to swap the door from right- to left-hand hinge.
