Works sometimes?

2.0

Pros

  • Easy to carry

Cons

  • Does not bond to label
  • Disappointing

Best Uses

  • Wine collectors

I am somewhat disappointed in this products performance. I have tried to remove three lables without success. In each case, the "Label Saver" did not "bond" to the entire label surface. In each case I got a partial label or not much label at all.

Must use a hard smooth edge of wood / plastic etc to rub along entire label before peeling off. Don't just use your fingers. We use a small plastic pot scrapper and these work great.

this does require a little attention to be sure label edges have adhered, but once they do, it's a great way to remove and save bottle labels.

The label Savers, work beyond my expectation. As a wine label collector for 20+ years the previous wine label removing product I've used has fallen in quality and I had to resort to using extremely hot water and microtome blades to remove the labels. This is a dangerous practice to utilize for the sake of a label. Thankfully with this product my task is simple and fast.

This product works really well. It's almost too sticky and too good though because unless you can perfectly lay the sticker, it can get crumpled a little towards the other side.

To make this product work best, avoid air bubbles at all costs and rub hard all over the label-saver with the back of a spoon before attempting to lift the label

We have used these for several years and it is a wonderful way to catalog our wine (& beer) drinking. If used correctly, these are simple and effective. Foil labels (even letters) require more attention to insure adhesion, but if you take the extra minute to work them down, they work a charm! Then just stick them in your notebook and you've got them preserved!

This product is terrific for taking off labels from wine bottles. With some of the European wine bottles you need to leave on for a day or two. With few exceptions this product absolutely works as advertised and is terrific if you collect labels.

GREAT product.

I had seen this product rated highly on the website, and figured with its affordable price, it was worth the chance. I would have never guessed how EASY it was! It removed labels from decade-old wine bottles without ripping or leaving any part of the label behind. It is extra large, so no worries about part of the label being left off. You simply lay it on, peel it off, trim the edges and are left with a perfect laminated version of the lable. I would recommended this to anyone-- much easier than soaking the bottles in vinegar hoping to loosen the label!

The best I have found

5.0

Pros

  • Easy to use
  • Love quantity discount
  • Works on most labels

Cons

  • Expensive to be obsessed

Best Uses

  • Crazed label saver

I have used a variety of label savers over the years and find these to consistently be the most effective in removing labels for adding to my wine journals and tasting notes. They are easy to use and work on most types of labels. To enhance effectiveness I rub the back of a large spoon over the label saver after application. The longer you can wait after application, the more successful the removal will be- at least over night.

It "works" (kind of).

It works by splitting the label front surface from the back. If the paper label is thin, it pulls a VERY thin layer off, sometimes it will be translucent its so thin. Also, larger labels won't be covered completely (like OPUS). It does seem better than trying to soak off labels in my experience. Just be aware that it is not going to work every time.
