Beautiful piece of furniture.......

4.0

Pros

  • Attractive Design
  • Adjustable Shelving
  • Precise Temperature
  • Stylish

Cons

  • Tight fit between shelves
  • Not as quiet as expected

Best Uses

  • Bar
  • Dining Room

This is our 3rd wine refrigerator (had 2 previous tabletop 8-bottle ones). Bought this one on sale because of the size (36-bottles), design (like furniture that we could put out in the dining room) and price. We are NOT disappointed with our purchase - it fits our needs perfectly. It actually fit better in our living room, blending well with the existing furniture. It has plenty of space to hold an aspiring inventory of wine. It also keeps an accurate cool temperature as advertised. The unit arrived in PERFECT condition and was VERY adequately packed to ensure showroom quality/condition. The shelves slide out and are removable to fit larger bottles of wine. Gripes: PLEASE don't focus on these 2 "little" gripes......we are MORE THAN WILLING to live with them as we love this fridge. 1) The unit is not super quiet as we expected. There is a low hum as you can hear the fan running at all times with this fridge. You can hear it from across the room, though as I already said, it is not TOO loud, just a little louder than we expected. 2) The shelves are closely spaced together. This means that it's a tight squeeze to get bottles in/out. Another customer said it could mar the labels of the wine. I agree. Also, while putting in the bottle, be careful not to hit the shelf with the bottom of the bottle on the way in - it can (and will) leave a mark on the outward facing front of the shelf. Overall, I gave this fridge 4 stars as we love it, it fits our needs perfectly (and now we can keep more than 8 bottles of wine cool at a time) and it has just those couple of minor issues. If you're looking for a nice, stand-alone piece of furniture that doubles as a wine fridge, this is it!

Nice unit - attractive and quiet

4.0

Pros

  • Energy Efficient
  • Attractive Design
  • Quiet
  • Adjustable Shelving

Cons

  • No temp readout
  • Poor shelf design

Best Uses

  • Bar
  • Dining Room

This is a nice larger thermoelectric (TE) unit that is also a rather handsome piece of furniture. We bought this to replace 2 small Vinotemp TE (12 bottle)units that only lasted about 15 months before each independently stopped working. This unit is much quieter than the smaller Vinotemp units and we really like the quiet since this is placed in an accoustically live living room. After having this installed for a few weeks, we are pleased overall. -Temperature at coolest setting varies from about 57 at the top to about 54 at the bottom. This natural variation works well for us by simply placing the reds on top, whites below. -We removed the bottom shelf to allow for champagne bottles to be stored on the bottom. -Shelves are a lightweight stained wood and do not load very easily. We found it MUCH easier to load the bottles with necks toward the rear - not like the picture. Bottles with unusual shapes need some creative placement, but we did not find that so problematic.

Beautiful & Quiet - But Missing 1 Thing

4.0

Pros

  • Attractive Design
  • Precise Temperature
  • Quiet
  • Energy Efficient
  • Adjustable Shelving

Cons

  • No Temp Indicator

Best Uses

  • Dining Room
  • Bar

This thing is beautiful, better than it appears in the catalogue or online. I keep only reds in it; temperature stays consistent; bottles fit snugly in place; shelves move easily and are solid enough. And its unbelievably quiet. It deserves 5 stars but the absence of digital temperature control and gauge seems to me a real flaw in something so well designed and made.

A Very Nice Cooler

4.0

Pros

  • Attractive Design
  • Quiet

Cons

  • Flimsy Shelving
  • Manufacturing QA

Best Uses

  • Dining Room
  • Bar

We purchased this item as our first wine cooler. We were pleasantly surprised with it's appearance. Although it is not constructed of hardwood it really does look like a fine piece of furniture. It is quite a bit darker than portrayed online. It has a dark cherry/mahogany appearance. We are pleased with it's performance and it is very quiet. We were concerned that it would not accommodate non-standard bottle sizes such as champagne but the top shelf has quite a bit of room above it and can hold 5 or 6 bottles of champagne. Pinot Noir bottles are fine elsewhere. Our biggest complaint is a mark on the inside of the insulated glass and if you look closely you can see wipe marks on the inside of the glass as well.[...]

Sharp appearance, cheap shelves

3.0

Pros

  • Very quiet sharp looking
  • Attractive Design
  • Quiet

Cons

  • Cheap shelves scratch
  • Can Not Adjust Shelving
  • No readable thermostat

Best Uses

  • Dining Room

The wood actually looks nicer in person, more of a cherry look to it. I am very pleased with the noise level. I am disappointed in the shelving. It scratches really easily and is so lightweight. I am not sure what kind of "solid wood" the shelves are.

I'd buy this product again....

4.0

Pros

  • Attractive Design
  • Quiet
  • Energy Efficient

Cons

  • Can Not Adjust Shelving
  • Too Small
  • Needs to be 8 in wider

Best Uses

  • Hearth room

We wanted to have a smaller furniture-type unit to hold a smaller qty of bottles for use in our hearth room for ourselves and guests. Ideally, we wanted a unit 44 in. wide but had to settle for the unit we purchased. It had a couple of minute pinhole sized dings in the wood but overall a very nice piece of furniture. The shelves do not move much & bottles have to be just the right size. Overall, we are satisfied and thinking about buying a larger furniture unit for our home in South Carolina.
