Pros

  • Easy To Clean
  • Durable
  • Attractive Design
  • Great conversation piece

Cons

  • Can't slide on raw finish
  • Awkward to store
  • Too Heavy

Best Uses

  • Home Bar
  • Patio

It's a really cool piece especially when able to use on my deck out side, I find I'm especially cautious using it on my oak dining set as this piece is very heavy and could easily scratch or dent other wood or metal tables. I also find it difficult to store because of the size and you do need two hands to pick it up or move it. I was able to sew up a padded storage bag made from a moving blanket and attached a heavy duty handle and slide it in an area between the wall and pantry, the bag protects the wall and floor and easy to get at. Also, the personalized ones come w/word "Vineyards" on it, can't have it removed.

  • In my art studio

I use this sturdy lazy susan in my small art studio. It can hold 47# and still spin around. Like a divided stage set, I can have two still life set-ups going on at once. So as one painting is drying for example, I can turn the susan and work on another.

I wanted to return the item before I received it but UPS left it on my door. The Customer Service rep through Wine enthusiast recommended I refuse the item when it was delivered but I never got that opportunity. The shipping expenses outweigh the hassle of returning it. It cost about [$] but shipping roundtrip is 60 so it's not worth the expenditure and time to return online. I ended up buying another one online through a site that was cheaper and more authentic, and free shipping. I wouldn't use wine enthusiast again if for no other reason that the overpriced shipping. [@] are mostly free.I now have it posted on [@] because it is red, and I hate cherry. It was not advertised as such. The picture on the website makes it seem honey colored. Not so; very much red. And clearly not an old barrel. This was never used and so unevenly cut. It wobbles when you spin it. Don't buy it! Well constructed and durable, but bad color, and the shipping is ridiculous!!

Cherry Wine barrel, not oak finish

Pros

  • Durable
  • Attractive Design
  • Easy to Use
  • Good construction

Cons

  • Uncentered barrel
  • Cherry Colored stain

Best Uses

Its very sturdy and well made but the picture does not reflect the grain of the wood. It looks more pine with a nectar/oak look but it is actually cherry. Very red hue which is my least favorite. It is also uneven when turned. The lazy susan feature is great but it is not perfectly round so it's not completely smooth when it turns.Otherwise a good product.

For our large coffee table, it enables everyone to reach appetizers, etc. I would like a smaller one for our narrow dining room table.

I bought this gift - after much searching and pondering - for a client that is a true wine connoisseur and also a man who already had everything. It just so happened that he had just built a new kitchen that opened onto their patio and this was the perfect addition. The fact that it is an authentic wine barrel top that has been crafted into a Lazy Susan made it the perfect gift for my client.

This product is very heavy, very sturdy, has a bit more rustic look and has a much darker stain than is showed in the photo. I read another review that said that about the stain, which is why I ordered it - I needed something to match our dark cherry wood bar stain and it was perfect. I believe it is freshly stained upon ordering, for that new, fresh stain smell was very apparent upon opening the box. This item turns very smoothly on a perfectly flat surface. If you need to use it on a surface with a table cloth or something not perfectly flat, just put a magazine underneath it to raise it up about 1/16" or for a more permanent fix I stuck a few of those small, soft pad things we put on the bottom of our chair legs (so that the chair legs don't scratch the hardwood floors in our kitchen). A pack of those cost only a couple of dollars at any hardware store. Very solid product. I can lift it, but an elderly person probably would not feel comfortable moving it around.

Added this to the center of a fairly large table in my wine room. It has made entertaining much easier. Guests don't have to reach, or pass bottles, and can easily help themselves during a wine tasting and/or dinner.

I bought this as a gift to myself and was very excited to receive it. I entertain frequently and always do several cheese platters so I thought this would be perfect to enhance my presentation. When I opened the box I was so disappointed. The item is heavily stained and not a pleasant color at all. It is a very dark red/brown and looks nothing like the picture! I was expecting a nice warm rustic brown as shown. The top is formed with two planks that don't line up so there is a height difference that will prohibit plates from resting flat. Additionally, my piece has 5 knots in it. I was expecting there to be irregularties but this appears to have been assembled without any regard for the artistic piece it is. [...] I had seen some other types of wine barrel tops while on a wine trip to Paso Robles but wanted a raised one so I held out for this. I wish I had bought the other type now.
