Really great knives and beautiful, too

These steak knives are a great value.

I was extremely disappointed with this product. The knives were bought as a gift for my daughter and son-in-law. When the knives were opened, they seemed flimsy and at least one of them had an actual "bend" in it. I have other sets of Laguiole steak knives that are very nice, but I would not recommend the ones I just purchased as a gift. Needless to say, I was embarrased by the knives' poor quality after they were opened.

I own the true version of these knives made by Fortessa and they are heavier and made of much better quality.

Great classic look, the knives are too lightweight and feel cheap

This item along with all the laguoiles steak knives can be found at your local [...] I just bought the stainless steal set. They had the mixed color handle and the black handle sets too.

IF YOU ARE BUYING REPLACEMENT KNIVES FOR A SET 10 YRS OLD BE PREPARED TO BE DISSAPOINTED. IN COMPARISON THESE ARE FLIMSEY. WEIGHT IS 30% LESS THAN EARLIER KNIVES. IF YOU ARE A FIRST TIME BUYER YOU WILL BE IMPRESSED BY THEIR QUALITY AND SHARP EDGE. STILL ONE OF THE BEST BUY ON THE MARKET AND I THINK THE PRICE IS LESS THAN IT USED TO BE

The perfect implement with which to cut up a steak, lamb chop or fish filet

They seem very flimsy and thin. The blades wobble when trying to cut with them. I expected a lot better quality from a knife company as old and established as this.

The handles are hollow and the knife lightweight. There is a small flat square bolt of some sort on the handle. It gets knocked off easily and when it does, the handle fills with water when cleaned. If used again soon after this, the water in the handles drips down your hand and arm while you're using it.

The steak knives look good even for formal dinners.

I purchased the Multi-Colored set and was rather disappointed. The plastic used in the handles is very cheap looking and lightweight. These may be "French" but they sure feel "Made in China". Also, one of the blades had scratches all over it to the point where I have to return the knives anyway. (I laughed when I read this on the back of the box: "Quality, an integral part of our company production is controlled at each step of production...") I'm not sure whether the "pearlized" black or ivory handles are made of the same cheap plastic, but I plan to exchange these for the stainless steel ones of the same price.

I cook dinner almost everyday and entertain frequently. In fact I bought these knives for a dinner party I hosted years ago and it was one of the best purchases I've made. We use these knives 3-4 times a week and they still look like new. They are easy to sharpen if you need to. I use a little hand held sharpening tool I bought at a hardware to run across the blade as I do all of my knives. I think you'll really like these knives and they will fit your budget. I don't want to spend hundreds of dollars on a set of knives.

I first bought these knives after a trip to france for my honeymoon. I loved them so much that I have bought them for each wedding that I go to.

I almost question whether this is a real Laguiole product. I have other Laguiole products; folding knife, cork screw, etc. These steak knives do not come close to the quality of my other Laguiole products.
