While not looking very fancy (molded plastic rather than Chrome handles), the function is smooth and effortless. I was disappointed by the warning against using it with artificial corks as these are becoming quite common and a person might open a bottle without checking first. Having done this, I can add that no ill-effects occurred with rubber stopper removal thus far--the function is just as effortless. I will admit however, that the reason I needed to buy this puller is to replace my previous cork puller, which literally fell apart--presumably hastened along by too many rubber stoppers. Definitely a good buy.

Seems awfully flimsy and that makes me wonder how many more bottles it will open. I guess for the $15 I think it cost, it is a good deal

Cannot be used with composite corks. It pops up upon pull. Sometimes breaks off long corks. Good price.

A low cost puller with all the performance of an expensive puller and a spare corkscrew. Have used one almost daily for three years and am still on the original corkscrew. The foil cutter falls apart at the beginning because the rivets are not secure. Have noticed this on my own puller and ones I have given for gifts. A little epoxy solves the problem. I repurchase for gifts.

Watch for the Bottom Of The Bottle, It will swing out a little, just keep a little downward pressure to keep this from happening.

This wine opener is a "must have" for anyone with arthritis. Opening wine bottles is a snap and I don't have to rely on others to open bottles anymore.

This thing broke the first use out of the box under normal wear. It was a gift, and I was mortified that it broke right away. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS AT ALL

I use this corkscrew every day and it is very easy to use. I have arthritis and this corkscrew works well for me even on artifical corks. It would have been convenient if it had a storage box.

I read the very sparse instructions, followed them and the only thing that came out of the bottle was the corkscrew when I reversed the lever action...... what am I doing wrong? Perhaps, the instructions could include pictures of the process. It sounds like others have had few problems getting it to work. I love the foil cutter; it works quickly and efficiently. I'll let you know about the drip guard if I ever get the cork out of the bottle..... sigh.

I did not realize until I received the item that it is not designed for synthetic corks. It is still in the box. Maybe I am not drinking the right kind of wine (! ;) but many of the corks in my bottles are synthetic. Still using the screw-in for now.
