Thye spigot for the wine keeper works well BUT has a tendency to break if you screw it in a little too much. It has taken me a while to figure out when enough is enough. BUT, I also can't live withjout it.

The system is somewhat finicky. I could imagine a non-mechanically minded person having trouble using it. The concept is perfect, though, and the results are very good. I have over-tightened the stopper and cracked the plastic flange, so you have to be careful about how tightly you wind the stopper. The only problem is that, apparently, some wine bottles have wider mouths than others. I think the system may be completely unusable in a small percentage of wider bottles. I have found that the best way to check this is to move the stopper up-and-down as you tighten it, so that you can find the narrowest part of the neck. The system is also ugly and a little unwieldy, but it works well overall.

Have been using this system for years now and love it, just purchased some additional stoppers. One of the very few preservation systems that actually works, and allows multiple open bottles... and you can store whites in the fridge between glasses. I've adapted the system to run off a small 20CF argon cylinder (nitrogen is fine too) so I have a near-infinite (years) supply of gas hidden away with a long tube, and a simple manifold to attach multiple stoppers (manifold and connectors available for purchase from the manufacturer). The stoppers do require a rinse with warm water and drying after every bottle, and periodic cleaning is also required (every 20 uses or so).

Needs better aesthetics
Product works especially well on robust reds that will last some days. Dispenser nice touch...no need to allow more air in bottle after open. Don't use on whites as gas cannister is clunkie and too big for fridge. Unfortunately, it is very chem lab appearing. Someone should do some aesthetic design work to rid it of its industrial appearance. Would be nice to have a little cabinet for 4 bottles that would not cost an arm and a leg...a few hundred dollars and I would buy it!

Works as advertised, but not so attractive. Contrary to other reviews, the plastic tube comes in two pieces and telescopes to any length necessary. However, if you lose the second, larger, telescoping tube then you have to replace the whole unit.

The tubing is too short for a 750 ml bottle. It leaves almost 1/2 of the bottle unreached.
