Captain's Wine Decanter

Like the durability of the glass, compared to crystal. Looks very nice for a glass carafe. Aerates wonderfully, great for large wine bottles. Angle on top provides a challenge to drying since decanter can not stand up side down. I find a dishtowel on my dish rack with decanter leaning works.

Improved a medium quality red wine to a better tasting one.

This is the second decanter I've purchased. I broke the first one and was thrilled to find it again. Good price for a good product. We did find it hard to dry but solved that problem by purchasing the drying stand.

Wine is well exposed to air due to the wide base.

This is a great everyday decanter. The look is cool and the glass is thick on it so it's not as fragile as some of the Riedel decanters. Although I love Riedel, those were more difficult to clean b/c they were so fragile. The Captain's decanter is easy to pour, makes a nice presentation for wine and hopefully won't chip after 1 cleaning. I also liked how the wine pours INTO the decanter. i tend to have it go down the inside rim to get some additional aeration on the wine, and the angled lip really helps with that. I will say it took some wine longer to come to room temp because of the glass, but still a great value! I definitely recommend to others looking for a good, useful decanter.

This decanter really helps the wine to open up in a very modern looking design. It is a little heavy to pour carefully when it is full, but otherwise it is great!

It dribbles a bit when pouring - but who doesn't. Anyway its ok, A little difficult to handle. My wife says she saw the same item for [$]. That was a little dis hartening as I paid [$]. But I did not confirm her sighting.

This decanter is beautiful. Thick sturdy and stylish! Perfect for the young wine enthusiast.
