Founded in 1521, Spiegelau is one of the oldest and most famous European manufacturers of fine crystal, located in the small town of Spiegelau in the heart of the Bavarian Forest. Being one of the most picturesque parts of Germany, this area has in recent times become as much a centre of tourism as…
We love that these glasses are beautiful and look similar to Riedel glasses but are way less expensive! They are everything we could ask for in a wine glass.

A PERFECT GLASS FOR QUALITY WINE. CRISP LIGHT FEEL TO THE GLASS. I DON'T RISK THEM IN THE DISHWASHER DUE TO LIGHT WEIGHT.

Admittedly I haven't had very much stemware that wasn't used (college student) and as a Pinot Noir fan these weren't the ideal glasses but these were too good of a price to pass up at the local department store, and I have to say that it really means something when your parents are impressed by your discount sale wine glasses. Never have tried to put them in the dishwasher but I firmly believe that if you have invested in nice wine/beer glasses hand-washing is a privilege not a chore. My only real problem is that being a student not many of my friends drink wine and its a shame to not be able to bring these out when entertaining guests.

Picked these up to replace a few causalties of war from my 10yr old Spiegelau stems. They were the same dimensions & design but that is where the similarities ended. The Glass is so Bulky & Thick Gauged it is night and day between my old stems. Almost decided to return these but at the price (& kids in the house) I'm keeping them for the durability, just won't drink from them much. Dissapointing as Spiegelau's Quality was top-notch but didn't gouge you on the price like Riedel. Should have figured once Riedel bought them in 04 they would drop the quality on the line to aviod exposing how overpriced they are. Capitalism at it best!!

These glasses look great and are wonderful for red wine. They are reasonably durable for such delicate looking stems. I hand wash them, so I can't comment on how well they do in the dishwaher. The only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is that hand washing is better. They can break if not handled carefully, but they are so inexpensive that I just order more.

Can work for anything red. Big, quality glasses that are inexpensive enough that they're it's not a big deal when they break ;)
