For about the last 12 years, this has been our favorite wine glass. We use them for both reds & whites, for everyday, parties, & seated dinners. They're pretty durable, but when we do break one replacing it is relatively inexpensive. We usually hand wash them, but after a party they often get put in the dishwasher with good results.

I use Spiegelau Vino Grande glassware for majority of wine drunk/served. They are deliacte and must be hand washed which you should do with any fine galssware. They are simple, elegant and functional. I also use Riedel Vinum Series.

Shorter stem fits better in the dishwasher. Wider bowl allows burgundies/ pinot noirs better "nose."

I do not enjoy drinking wine from the bottle. It follows that I need glasses. I hate glasses with beaded rims. They just look tacky and cheap. I like delicate glasses. You only live once. If they break, then you buy new ones. These glasses have delicacy. i like that. They also hold wine. I like that even more.

These are our new "drink everything/anything" glasses. We were accumulating far too many glasses and filling our cabinets with odd lots left over from breakage. Thus far, no breakage and yet they feel as fragile as more expensive pure crystal. The only reason I gave them four stars instead of five is the fact that I cannot convince myself to put them in the dishwasher; a back-handed compliment I suppose.

I do not like this product. I bought them because they were the long-time everyday favorites of the WSJ wine columnists. The glasses are too large and awkward to pick up and hold. Don't find them very attractive either -- kind of clunky. They are too big to wash on dishwasher top shelf and take up way too much room on the bottom. I thought I would get used to them, but I wish I had returned them before use. Oh, well. I wouldn't order anymore wine glasses on-line unless I had already seen them in a store. It's risky to rely so much on the opinion of others -- even experts. It's really a matter of personal preference.

We use these glasses all the time....why not use something you love? They are elegant and practical at the same time. A pretty good combination in my book! We often give these glasses as wedding presents.
